A commercial motorcyclist and his passenger escaped death by the whisker in Iragbiji, Boripe local government penultimate Wednesday.
They were on the bike and riding over a bridge located in the Oke-Osun area of the ancient city when it suddenly collapsed.
Confirming the incident, the acting Public Relations Officer, of Nigeria Security, and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Kehinde Adeleke said no casualty was recorded.
‘The said bridge collapsed at the time when an okada rider and a female passenger were right there, the people around rendered help, and the woman was rescued along with the motorcyclist.
No one died at the scene but the two victims were seriously injured.
The victims were rushed to the hospital where they are presently receiving treatment while the collapsed area has been demarcated’, he said.
