The feud between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has come to an end. The homecoming between Obasanjo and his political godson took place at the recently celebrated 80th birthday of the former president. The mini ceremony included the presentation of customized Festac ’77 number plates by Daniel to Obasanjo. Chief Obasanjo in a show of renewed peace and love reciprocated the gesture by assigning Daniel the role of receiving V.I.Ps to the three-day birthday ceremony. Obasanjo reportedly cut ties with Daniel for being rude to him but during the visit that lasted for about three hours, both men ended their frosty relationship with hearty conversation and rib-cracking jokes. Obasanjo was quoted as telling Daniel that “If I still hold any grudge against you, I won’t have allowed you to come into my house. But all those are past things and I am convinced that you have learnt your lessons.” Daniel was also reported to have said that he appreciated Obasanjo for having a change of heart and noted he didn’t mean any harm against the former president and he has always held him in very high esteem as the father of the nation and father of all.
