New Police IG, Adamu Muhammed, Takes Over *Idris retires

President Muhammadu Buhari has found a replacement for Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim kpotun Idris, who is retiring from the service tomorrow,

Tuesday.

He is Adamu Muhammed, an Assistant Inspector General of police. Muhammed hails from Nasarawa State.

It was learnt that the president made his choice today from a list of names of officers presented to him.

It was learnt that officers earlier tipped to replace Idris included DIG Shuaibu Gambo from Niger State, DIG Habilla Joshak, AIG Mohammad Musa Katsina, from Katsina State, AIG Adamu Mohammed Abubakar from Nasarawa State and AIG Kayode Aderanti from Osun State.

Adamu Mohammed, a former Enugu state commissiober of police, hails from Nasarawa State.

He is currently doing a course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos.

Mohammed was a deputy commissioner of police in Ekiti state and has served at the Interpol. He is an assistant inspector-general of police (AIG).
