The Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdul Fatah Ahmed is not relenting on efforts to ensure he leaves good legacies that would stand the test of time. The state Executive Council last week approved the construction of a new state secretariat at the cost of N1, 108,011,068.73k. The Secretariat which is expected to be completed within 36 weeks commencing from July will house four ministries namely, Ministry of Energy, Planning, Commerce and Water Resources. The council has also directed the Ministry of Environment to begin immediate distilling of all drainages across the state with a view to fore-stalling flooding normally associated with the raining season. There would also be efforts at stepping up advocacy on the need for people to avoid dumping of refuse in drainages as a necessary step to avoid flooding in the state.
