Afro Beat heir apparent, Femi Anikulapo Kuti, is not having it nice with one of his Lagos residence neighbours.
The apparently upset man named Napoleon, was said to have insulted Femi to the shock of other residents in the area.
As we learnt, the area was disconnected from the PHCN light, allegedly for six weeks because the transformer there was bad.
The source told us that fellow residents lamented Femi’s nonchalance, and Napoleon allegedly said he was behaving ‘too big’ because he does not rely on ‘NEPA’ to run his home and showbiz arena, Afrika Shrine.
The residents were said to have booked for a new transformer and have been visiting the PHCN office to ensure it is delivered in time. But Femi, they alleged, was unmoved about their agitation for a new transformer.
They also said that the singer would neither speak nor lend his voice on the matter; hence the verbal attack by Napoleon.
They claimed that Femi’s refusal to wade into the matter with the power officials has been delaying the fixing of a new transformer to their area.
When Global Excellence called Femi’s phone number, it was switched off.
An Afrika Shrine source later informed us that the singer was in France ‘for show.’
