The old students of Navy Town Secondary School Oriade Lagos, has concluded plans to reunite for their 30th anniversary celebration.

The 30th anniversary celebration is billed to take place on the 15th of December, 2018 within Navy Town Barracks Satellite Town Lagos.
The epoch celebration according to Godwin Ikenna Uyamasi, President of the Old Students Association is borne out of the need to give back to the citadel of learning that gave them the pivotal opportunity to launch themselves into different fields of human endeavor they are in today.

‘We are giving back to our alma mater in a few days time through various projects initiated to improve the learning conditions of the school and this has been made possible by the cooperation of the various sets that has passed through the school ’
We are believing that after this 30th anniversary, the alumni of Navy Town Secondary School will continue to explore ways of giving back to the school Mr Uyamasi disclosed.

A week long program of activities has been lined up as the countdown to December 15 builds commences.
As part of the events lined up for the anniversary celebration, the alumni will hold a career /teaching day to be co-ordinate by ex students who will be the hands to teach current students on that day.

A day for book Fest where textbooks on various subjects will be donated by different past sets towards upgrading the school library ,donation of white chalk cum marker boards for classrooms, donation of 5,000 branded exercise books to the students of the school and appliances like two giant photocopying machines among other items.

There will also be a novelty football match between the old students association and the school’s first eleven.

The D-Day where the celebrations to mark the epoch event will finally close the curtain of activities.

The planning committee has also concluded arrangements to have as many old teachers of the school to attend the event as this would stir up nostalgic feelings and bring back good memories among the students.

The alumni has called on all its past students to come out in their numbers and grace this event as it will serve as a tonic in bonding its members for the great task ahead.

The dress code for the main event according to the planning committee is formal or professional with a touch of blue and white.

Navy Town Secondary situated within the Naval Barrack in Satellite Town Lagos was founded in 1988 by the military administration of that era through the Lagos state ministry of education to cater for children and wards of military soldiers living in the barracks.

After thirty years and counting, the school is waxing stronger churning out leaders who are doing well in their chosen careers in life
