The National Assembly has passed a vote of no confidence on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, they further resolved to do all within their powers to uphold democracy.

The three hours of closed door meeting is not unconnected with the fact that both Senator Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani have been guests of the police recently after being accused of criminal offences, while Senate President Bukola Saraki has been linked with the Offa bank heist of April 5 by the police.

Global Excellence recalls that the National Assembly and the IGP have been at loggerheads over the latter’s refusal to appear before the assembly

Meanwhile, President Buhari also held a close door meeting with the country’s security chiefs at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
