Michael Hannah Foundation Launches Free Vocational Training Centre in Lagos *to empower youth and women

The Michael Hannah Foundation has officially launched a free Vocational training Centre in Lagos with the aim of empowering millions of Nigerian youths, orphans, women and unemployed men.

The launching and unveiling ceremony was held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the newly commissioned vocational training centre, along LASU-Isheri Road,Igando area of Lagos State.

In her remark, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said, ” Our foundation is excited to officially launch and dedicate our office and training facility for the less privileged in our society.

“The foundation was conceived and established to assist Nigerian Youths (male and female) with needed skills required to empower them to be self-sufficient and make them responsible members of the community.

“In partnership with our partners and contributors, our foundation is offering free skills in critical areas of our society including Catering, Soap making, Skin Care, Photography, Tailoring & Fashion design, Make-up & Make-over, to mention but a few.

” Emphatically, we will train them and provide them with working tools and equipment, free of charge, without receiving any dime from any of the participants.

“Our intention is clear, we want to take many youth and unemployed people in the society out of poverty. Many of them are roaming about the street aimlessly, causing societal vices because they are not gainfully employed. They are idle and you know what that means?

“We want to equip them with means of livelihood. In doing this, we will be reducing negative actions of youth in our country.

“We are committed to taking them up and to make them self-sufficient persons who will be responsible to family and the society at-large. We will train them, equip them and establish them as Chief Executive Officers and employers of labour.

“This is an important task that can’t be executed alone, we therefore invite organisations, individuals and public servants to partner and generously support us in cash and kinds. Every token and contribution will be appreciated,” the founder disclosed.

She however urged the beneficiaries to make the best out of the rare opportunities offered to them by getting themselves prepared mentally, spiritualy and physical for the future.

She also charged volunteers, partners and team members to exhibit unreserved commitment and dedication to achieving the goals of the foundation.

In his remark, Veteran Nigerian actor, Saheed Balogun, who was a guest at the event, called on philanthropists in Nigeria to join the founder of the association in efforts to take many unemployed people out of the street.

Commending the efforts of the foundation, Mr. Balogun, charged the volunteers to continue to build on the success of the founder.

Prophet Moses Olanrewaju Bankole, General Oversea and founder, Christ World Gospel Ministry, who was elated by the state of art facilities in the Vocational centre, called on religious leaders and philanthropists in Nigeria and Diapora to rally around the foundation with the general interest of supporting Nigerian youth.

The event was also attended by notable dignitaries in Nigeria including Alhaji Wasiu Sodiq, President of Islamic Musician Association of Nigeria, who also made commitment to supporting the vision of the foundation.

The intensive capacity development training which commenced on Thursday 26th, November. registered about 200 participants including women, youths and men who have been exposed to skills in various departments in the vocational centre.

According to the management of the foundation, programmes offered by the centre will take maximum of six-months with intensive practical and management skills. In addition, participants are expected to be equipped with facilities and equipment to establish their businesses.
