Engr Bamidele Obiniyi
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. In the same vein, the journey of a man on earth begins at birth. It is on this philosophical premise that I take a peep into the place of birth and state of origin of this iconic leader who is married and blessed with three lovely children. Engr. Obiniyi was born in Isanlu community, Yagba East LGA of Kogi State.
His early education was at CAC Primary School Isanlu before he proceeded to African Church Secondary School Isanlu and finally St. Kizito’s College also in Isanlu. He did not stop there as he went in search of further academic qualifications as a civil engineer. In quick succession, he added more feathers to his academic laurels with; Master in Transport Management MTM,  Master in Business Administration MBA and Advance Diploma in Theology from Christ Apostolic Church Seminary Ile Ife,  respectively.
He buttresses his academic background with rounded professional qualification and membership of relevant professional institutions for career advancement and enhancement; member, Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), member, Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria, and, fellow, Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria (FCLRMN)
His versatile professional work experience and managerial leadership capacity encompasses but not limited to the following; Chairman/MD, Brodefe Network Ltd. Abuja, where he provides overall leadership and direction to ensure the organization achieves its vision, mission, goals and objectives. He is chairman/MD, Sovereign International Sport Academy Abuja, which is responsible for organizing sport championships, both local and international to discover talents at the grass root. These include Kogi State governors badminton championship from 2004 till date; Chief Resident Engineer, Petroleum Tax Fund (PTF). Abuja between 1998 and 2000. This was responsible for monitoring all PTF road project under Enugu State Zone, Redesigning, Rehabilitation, Daily and Monthly report preparation, Supervision and Monitoring of staff, determine the financial needs of each site contractor, prepare bills and claims payment for work done, redesign, rehabilitation and reconstruction of: Agabni road, Coal Camp road, Enugu – Port Harcourt road, Enugu – Abakaliki road, Enugu – Awka – Onitsha road, Abakaliki – Ogoja road, New Haven Abakpa road to mention but a few.
In his Personal Statement, Engr. Obiniyi stated unequivocally that; “I will serve as a leader, live a balanced life and apply ethical principles to make a significant difference to the growth and development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
It is a truism that the dream one has is a picture of his tomorrow. Obiniyi learnt early in life to be profitable in what he does and perfected the art of being tenacious in any dream he chases. He also learnt to be industrious, consistent and powerfully focused. He has always been a dogged, hardworking person and has the enabling ability and capacity to survive in any kind of challenging situation.
As a philanthropist, Bashorun Obiniyi has been very conscious of his role in the development of his community. In recognition of his kind gestures and philanthropy, he was honoured by the traditional council with the chieftaincy title of Bashorun of Okeagiland, and subsequently in December 2016, he was honoured with another exalted traditional chieftaincy title, Akeweje of Bagido followed closely in 2017 with the title of Oluomo of Isanlu Kingdom.
His hobbies and interests include; music, football, volleyball and badminton.
