With the former Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi’s death in barely ten days, the widow and the immediate family may be overwhelmed by a certain category of people whose daily bread came from the deceased.

Global Excellence reliably gathered that, some distant relatives of the former governor have started to cash in on the opportunity of his passing to ask the former governor’s Widow, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, of various kinds of assistance.

According to reliable insiders, some of these relatives were claiming that the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, before his demise, had promised to empower them in one area or the other and now that he was dead, they are demanding on the widow to fulfil her husband’s promises to them.

“This is one of the major reasons many of the faces that you saw on television were grieving over Ajimobi’s death,” disclosed one of our sources.

The source said that even before Ajimobi’s eighth-day remembrance prayer organized on Sunday, these family members had made frantic efforts to get to the widow ” even asking to continue his good works by using her husband’s goodwill together with her own with top government officials to get them empowered.”

“Many of them were saying since her husband was very close with who-is-who in Nigeria, it shouldn’t be hard for the widow to assist them if at all she doesn’t want to use the family’s funds for them,” another source said.

However, it was not clear to Global Excellence if these relatives had approached Mrs. Ajimobi directly on the reported issue. But the source said” a member of the nuclear family had been put on notice.”
