Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, the legislator representing Ikeja Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has expressed shock and disbelief over the sudden passage of Special Adviser to Lagos State

Late Deji Tinubu
Hon Adedamola Kasunmu

governor on Commerce, Industry and Coorperatives, Mr Deji Tinubu.
According to the lawmaker on one of his social media pages:

“The passing away of my brother, Deji Tinubu, is still a rude shock. I still don’t believe he should be the one to die just like that.
This is indeed a personal loss! He was not just a cousin, he was a close ally and partner in progress in the cause of making Lagos State the greatest sports hub.

His contributions to the development of sports in Lagos State and Nigeria are unquantifiable.
He was a selfless individual who always put the interest of others ahead of his.

Deji Tinubu was a silver spoon by all parameters and he had all the opportunities of picking up a plum career in the corporate world with all the perks that went with it, yet out of his selflessness and desire to develop the younger generation, he followed his passion and chose the path of Sports where he eventually carved a commendable niche for himself.
His achievements and contributions to that sector are unmatchable.

In his capacity as Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission and in my capacity as Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development, we worked together smoothly, collaborated on many fronts and got fantastic results for the benefit of Lagosians.
His contributions to the 2 sports bills I sponsored last year were immense. He put in his very best. He was humble, honest and focused. He was perfect gentleman.
We will surely miss him.

On behalf of my immediate family and the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development, I commiserate with our father and leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; His Excellency, the governor of Lagos State and his entire cabinet; the entire Tinubu family, the sports community in Nigeria and Africa, as well as his immediate family. Rest on brother! Good night!”
