The Lagos State gubernatorial candidate for the Alliance For Democracy, AD, Hon. Owolabi Salis has described the flops during the last presidential and legislative election that took place on February 23, as a bunch of disappointment from the part of Independent National Electoral Commission,  INEC.
Speaking with journalists while voting was ongoing, OwolabI said though INEC is to be commended for the free, fair and credible election with violent free especially in Lagos aside from Okota area where the activities there are questionable but they still need to work hard to complement a good record for the whole exercise, “if you check your time now it’s some minutes to 4pm and i’m yet to cast my vote, if i as a gubernatorial candidate of a political party could be so pissed with the process and long queue how much more common electorates?
“I have been to my polling unit three times today yet no solution had been found to the problem, the officials got here lately and after got here they still not have the card reader machine, they have to wait for the one they are using in Atunrase street meaning that we can’t vote here until they are done in Atunrase unit, can you imagine that?” he asked rhetorically.
Owolabi however enjoined all good people of Lagos State to storm their respectives polling unit in a very peaceful and orderliness manner and vote for the itch-free party, AD, he therefore describes himself as “Mekunu’s choice” (masses’ choice) .
In his words, “i am not the one contesting, the race is between the Masses and Riches, i am nominated by masses not riches so the masses are the one contesting against the riches, lot of poor people out there had been shortchanged and they are ready to get the government back to themselves.
“Politicians have used them so much in the past without the fulfilment of their promises to them so it is going to be a different ballgame in this dispensation” he said emphatically.

Recall, Salis, a chartered accountant, had in 2003 and 2007 aspired for governorship on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party before the emergence of Late Funsho Williams while Senator Musiliu Obanikoro emerged as the party’s

Hon. Owolabi Salis

gubernatorial  candidate in the year 2007.
