It was good news to parents and students of public secondary schools in Kwaea state as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq disclosed last week that students across Kwara state public schools will get free notebooks.
It was part of the steps taken by the government to deepen access to quality education and ease the burden on the parents.  The governor released the good news at a meeting with the leadership of  the Nigeria Union of Teachers ,NUT, in Ilorin penultimate Wednesday night.
N70m has been  released to the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development to produce the notebooks and make them available to students in public schools for free.   ‘I went to some schools where the students have no reading materials. That was why we set aside about N70million to make sure that books get to the students and they will soon start distributing them’  the governor said
