Kwara Poly Denies Fee Hike

 The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin  on Wednesday once again stated that it has not increased the school fees for the 2017/2018 academic session. Rector, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu who made this known to Global Excellence disclosed that for the 2016/2017 academic session, ND I students who are indigenes paid N52,500 while the non-indigenes coughed out N72,500.

The same template was according to him retained as the ND II, students who are indigenes are to pay N52,000 while the non-indigenes will pay N72,000 for the 2017/2018 academic session.

The HND I  students who are indigenes paid N59,000 and the non–indigenes who paid N 76, 000 for the 2016/2017 academic session, will now  pay N58,000 and N75,000 respectively as HND II students for the 2017/2018 academic session. Alhaji Elelu assured that no extra fee has been added and that the management of the institution has not received approval for such.

The rector therefore urged the students, parents and guardians to discard the rumour and appealed to the general public to endeavour to seek clarification when they are in doubt over developments in the school. He also advised the public to verify information on fees and other activities involving the school on the institution’s official website.

Also in response to the representations made to him, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has directed that the institution should maintain the status quo in respect of the tuition and the ancillary fees to ensure that students in the state retain access to quality higher education as provided by the polytechnic irrespective of the backgrounds.
