The veteran politician, who is the Oluomo of Inisha, Osun State, has however, noted  that there will be no elaborate ceremony at least for now.

‘IMPORTANT NOTICE…

There is no doubt that Birthday is a Special Day in the life of an individual because it serves as an opportunity to reflect and appreciate the Almighty Allah for His Mercies and Favours.

However, as much as I look forward to celebrating my 90th Birthday which is supposed to hold on February 22, 2025, particularly with family members, friends, political associates and well- wishers, such an elaborate ceremony will not hold due to some personal reasons and congested political programmes.

To everyone who had asked about the plans for my Birthday, I would like to say I am honoured by your goodwill and prayers.

To this end, all plans regarding my 90th Birthday have been put on hold in view of my family’s advice to shift the ceremony to a later date, which obviously will be after the forthcoming Holy month of Ramadan.

However, a short family thanksgiving prayer service will be held at my Inisa Residence. Thanks for the Love’ the top politician submitted penultimate week.

Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun who is an APC chieftain had at different times served as old Oyo State NPN Secretary, Secretary to the old Oyo State Government under Dr Omololu Olunloyo , PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration and Chairman of Michael Imodu National Institute for Labour Studies, (MINILS), Ilorin during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Nurudeen Adeyemi Remembers Late Father, Saibu Adeyemi

Nurudeen Adeyemi

A member of the Board of Trustees of TETFUND, Chief Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun penultimate week remembered his late father, Alhaji Saibu Adeyemi Balogun and penned a tribute to him.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, an aerospace engineer called the late businessman and community leader ‘alakata’,  and ‘okunrin Meta’ while also extolling his virtues.

‘Good day to our families and friends across the globe.

Firstly, my appreciation and gratitude to all. My great Governor, His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, long may you live. I shall continue to pray for Allah’s blessings and protection for you and yours. Thanks for the call(s). Thanks for the words of encouragement. To all the Distinguished senators and Honourables that deemed little me worthy of a call or words of encouragement, my utmost gratitude as always.

To the multitude that showed their love with calls or condolence messages or silent prayers for the repose of his soul, we say God bless you. We pray that Allah will be with you at your own most difficult of times.

The day has been very surreal and somewhat of a whirlwind. To say that I have fully processed what happened would be my first intentional lie that I can remember.

In the voice of my Alhaji, ‘Nuru o mo ro pa’ as I have always owned up to anything that I am truly accountable for. May his soul rest in peace. May Allah deem him worthy of al-janah firdaus as in my heart of hearts that is where he truly belongs.

This is my attempt to share with the world my feelings about my beloved dad. I can’t really put into words my true feelings but I will try.

My Alhaji was a peace-loving man while being a boxer at a very young age. Mind blown right?

A great mediator probably because he observed and learned from my grandfather as my dad was a son of Arugbo as most of his brothers and sisters were old enough to be his own father or mother.

The family lost a great father, grandfather and great grandfather. Kabiyesi lost a friend and a confidant. The community lost a man that I truly believe lived for others.

Many sons and daughters of others were raised under Alhaji’s roof due to his accommodating disposition.

My Alhaji never saw the need to seek revenge for what he may have thought was a raw deal from others. He truly believed he came with nothing and will surely go back with nothing.

Despite being denied the opportunity to have a formal education as he had school uniform sewn and ready to go until ……long story, he prioritized educational pursuits for the family.

My Auntie was on the popular village headmaster because he was instrumental in ensuring she attended university. Ruffled feathers in the process.

My Alhaji was ahead of his time as he was somewhat democratic in his disposition. He sought our opinion and guidance on things.

He would even allow me to point out the Sallah Rams that I wanted. He would buy many sallah rams to ensure many in the family enjoy the same.

Equity and justice have always been his guiding principles. My Alhaji is happiest when others are happy. He is a man devoted to his faith, his family, his friends and his community. He built an accommodating large tent.

In short, he was a great guy. May his soul rest in peace. May Allah grant him aljanna firdaus.

Love you all. Remain blessed. Wishing the most of blessings for everyone’, he submitted.

Ilorin Big Boy Moddibo Kawu In Good Mood

Moddibo Kawu

Former Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Alhaji Modibbo Ishaq Kawu is in a very good mood.

He was penultimate week acquitted of fraud charges ditto Pinnacle Communications Limited, and two others.

Recall that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had in May 2019 preferred charges against Mallam Moddibo Ishaq Kawu and two others, and the charges had bordered on abuse of office, money laundering among others.

It had centered on the N2.5 billion that was released to Pinnacle Communications Limited as seed grant for the Digital Switch-Over (DSO) programme that was introduced by the Federal Government.

The ICPC had alleged that the defendants violated a government White Paper governing the DSO programme, which had specified that only government-owned entities are eligible for the seed grant

They were re-arraigned in July 2020 following an amendment made to the charges to allow the removal of the name of a deceased defendant, Lucky Omoluwa, who was until his death, the Chairman of Pinnacle Communications.

The number of charges was also reduced from 12 to 5.

Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo-Giwa of the Federal High Court, Abuja ruled on Thursday that ICPC failed to prove its case against the defendants beyond reasonable doubt.

‘The witnesses’ statements did not directly link the defendants to the alleged fraud’, she said.

The judge added that ICPC did not tender any documentary evidence to corroborate its claims while noting that former Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who allegedly approved the payment under ‘questionable circumstances’, was not called to testify.

She also said some witnesses noted that the minister may have been misled into approving the payment.

Justice Ogunbanjo-Giwa declared the defendants acquitted after noting that the prosecution had failed to prove its case against the defendants beyond reasonable doubt.

She struck out the charges on the grounds that they are invalid.

Family members and friends of Alhaji Moddibo Kawu had since then been in a happy mood.

Primate Elijah Ayodele Reveals What Caused Rift Between Him And Oyetola

Primate Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele who is the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has revealed what caused rift between him and former governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola while asserting that Governor Ademola Adeleke will win re-election next year.

Primate Elijah Ayodele spoke during an empowerment programme organized by the church in Lagos.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff while former Senator Abiodun Olujimi was also among the attendees of the empowerment programme.

Ayodele noted that God has revealed to him that Governor Adeleke will earn a second term in office.

Governorship election will hold in Osun State in 2026.

He also recalled how he had told Governor Adeleke in 2017 that he would win the 2018 gubernatorial election but will not be sworn in and this eventually came to pass.

‘Your Excellency, let me remind you. In 2018, you were in the senate. I came to your house, a white-storey building located along the road. I told you that you will win but they will rob you of victory.

You stood up, screamed and later danced to give thanks to God . When the election was rigged, I gave thanks to God for the grace He gave me to deliver his message to you’.

Primate Ayodele also told the congregation that Governor Adeleke’s humility is so uncommon that he saw him off and followed him to his car during the visit in question.

He disclosed that former governor Gboyega Oyetola, who is currently the Minister of Blue Economy was his friend but the friendship ended when he told him that God did promise that he would win re-election in 2022.

‘Oyetola was my friend, I told him he would lose the election but he was not ready to listen to the voice of God and that was what led to separation between us.

If APC fields Oyetola in 2026, he will lose. Anybody the APC fields for the race, Adeleke will beat him. It is divine.

People have been calling me a controversial prophet but I don’t care because God Himself is also controversial.

I am now giving you God’s words that you, Governor Adeleke will win the 2026 governorship election no matter how it may be. I want to tell you that if Oyetola should contest again, it is going to be a red card for him’, he said.

Primate Ayodele urged Governor Adeleke not to contemplate the idea of leaving PDP for APC, noting that God has approved that the party will remain in power in Osun State.

Calling Adeleke the happiest governor in Africa, he asked him to be rest assured that God will not forsake him but put his enemies to shame.

‘Asiwaju sir, please, keep doing the best that you are doing for the people of Osun State. There is no magic wand that can save APC. Even if Tinubu comes to Osun to campaign for APC and Oyetola , you will win’ he declared.

Governor Adeleke later laid the foundation stone of the low-cost housing project initiated by the church while also presenting items to some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme.
