Kwara State government penultimate week wielded the big stick and sacked the two companies handling waste management services in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

The two companies;  Interproject and Primscape have consequently lost  the  right to carry out   waste management services  in the state capital while the government has asked  other companies to apply for the job.

The state Commissioner for Environment, Mrs.  Remilekun Oluwatobi Banigbe, who announced the termination of the contract in a statement also called for expression of interest by other waste management companies,
She  blamed  the affected companies  for failing  to  fulfill contractual obligations.

The state government according to Remilekun places   importance on personal and environmental hygiene and would therefore take necessary steps to ensure nothing goes wrong in the environmental sector.

‘The Kwara State Government hereby announces the termination of the engagement of the State Social Waste Contractors due to inability to meet the relevant Service Level Agreements.

The wellbeing of the good people of Kwara remains paramount to  the Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, hence we will be leaving no stone unturned to ensure a more  hygienic environment for all and sundry.

On this note, the Ministry of Environment hereby invites Submission of Interest from the general public for the vacancies created.
