The Kind Purse Foundation, a non-governmental organisation established to help the indigents of the society, has kicked off a humanitarian scheme where hundreds of people including the widow’s and aged are presented with various types of food items.

Moyo Adekoya Bilesanmi, a Psychology of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, who is the brain behind the project, said the Kind Purse Foundation “is a break from the norm”.

She explained that the Foundation is primarily aimed at restoring hope and trust of the needy, the disadvantaged and disabled through a simple act of kindness, adding that she has a personal conviction that the best service is that which is rendered to humanity, hence, her resolve to give back to the society, having developed a passion for helping people.

“I took after my mum’s heart for kindness and love for those around her while growing up. My mother was very accommodating and she helped people a lot,” she said while she disclosed that Kind Purse Foundation has over the years “genuinely and passionately rendered selfless service to humanity, saving people from poverty, hunger and all forms of abuses and inhuman treatments.”

According to Moyo, thousands of people have benefitted and are still benefiting from the Foundation via its series of empowerment programmes. They include young boys and girls, widows and single mothers, aged and the poor, particularly, she said, many has been assisted to stay afloat during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Food items such as bags of rice, beans, garri, cartoons of noodles, among others have been donated to thousands of people while cash donations were also made.

Moyo, who noted that her charity activities have no political undertone, declared that her Foundation would soon be visiting different communities every month to feed the children, believing that when people are well fed, there will be reduction in social vices.
