Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall a.k.a K1 de Ultimate, has reportedly moved to Oyo town preparatory for his planned installation as the ‘Maiyegun of Yorubaland’.
The seasoned musician is first to have been honoured with the high chieftaincy title, courtesy of the Oyo Kingdom paramount ruler, His Royal Majesty Alaafin Lamidi Adeyemi.
K1’s publicist, Kunle Rasheed, in a statement on Friday, said ”the organizing committee of the event led by the singer, in collaboration with selected Alaafin’s top palace chiefs are right now in the ancient town of Oyo to put finishing touches and make final preparations for the landmark event that will confirm the glorious conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title of Maiyegun of Yorubaland on Fuji music czar, K-1 de Ultimate.”
Rasheed writes further; ”Trust K1 and his antecedents on events like this in his honour, he will not allow the day to go
without a magnificent and elaborate ceremony, as he does not do his things in half measures. Little wonder, he and his team are earnestly in Oyo to tighten loose ends and put in place all necessary logistics for the much-anticipated defining moment for the Olu Aye of Fuji, King Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan.”
