Journalists Honour Gov. Aregbesola For Good Performance
A good number of associations, groups and bodies have at different times appreciated the governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the legacies he is set to leave behind and the achievements recorded by his administration by honouring him with awards. The big one is, however here, the latest garland is coming from the men of the pen fraternity.
For his exemplary performance in the field of infrastructure and development and for the governor’s effort in transforming Osun State into an Eldorado, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council sequel to the approval of the National Secretariat of the union, is planning to honour the governor with the ‘Distinguished Award of Excellence in Unprecedented Infrastructural Development’. The NUJ Award came the way of the governor a few weeks after the Nigerian Society of Engineers had equally acknowledged and lauded the infrastructure development drive recorded by the Rauf Aregbesola’s administration in the state. ‘You are a Governor with uncommon candour. You have certainly raised the bar of governance not only in Osun State but the country as a whole. You are a worthy ambassador and a shining example of leadership excellence to the people of all times, the younger generation no doubt, do consider you a role model that they look up to’ the NUJ stated. In his reaction to the development, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy , Hon. Adelani Baderinwa described the award as timely and well-deserved.
‘It was not unexpected that NUJ, a well-respected union would decide to recognize the governor’s track records in the last seven years and the uncommon display of exemplary leadership qualities which has reflected in ‘The New Face of Osun’ and the apparent display of love and affection to the people of the state in particular, a quality that has endeared the governor to the young and the old. No doubt, Aregbesola is leaving an enduring legacy!
‘The unprecedented number of flyovers and the quality of road network that the trail blazer Aregbesola has constructed, state of the art and well-equipped modern schools with free lunch provided to the pupils in elementary school and the commendable efforts aimed at making Osun State self-sustaining and an industrial hub are apparently part of the reasons why Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was considered for the award’ he said. Global Excellence learned that the awards event holds on April 19th, 2018 at the Atlantis Event Centre, West Bye Pass, Osogbo. The state NUJ Chairman, Comrade Abiodun Olalere is expected to be the Chief Host.
