The buzz created by the shocking discovery in an Ikoyi, Lagos apartment by the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of over $43 million is still on. The EFCC had
discovered a large stash of monies whose real owner is yet unknown. Already, names of personalities who own apartments in the building, Osborne Towers, said to have been owned by the former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, have been released while investigations and hunt for the owner continue.

Meanwhile, at the launch of the detection of the funds, the name of famous TV talk show host and CEO of Ebony TV, Mosunmola Abudu a.k.a Mo Abudu, featured conspicuously. Not because she is the only female mentioned to also own a flat in the building apart from Mrs. Folashade Oke, wife of Mr. Ayodele Oke, the suspended boss of National
Intelligence Agency in whose care the funds were said to have been kept, but Mo Abudu was also clandestinely linked in romance with the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of
Transport, Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Mr. Lere Olayinka, the media spokesman to the Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, was quoted in a press statement as buck-passing raged over the discovered monies, to have alluded to Mo Abudu as ‘the alleged mistress of Rotimi Amaechi’. The
statement added that Amaechi probably bought Mo Abudu her flat. Mr. Amaechi had earlier been rumoured to own one of the flats in the building but names of owners of the apartments which were later
made public by the authorities did not include his.

This magazine has, however, learnt that indeed Mo Abudu and former Governor Amaechi have something in common; their attendance at same events by accident. A reliable source informed us that what brings both personalities together is not
just the fact that they are popular celebrities; they have also overtime become ‘public interests’ as they
are seen together at nearly all important public functions.

Our source gave some instances why both Mo Abudu and Amaechi are being linked together since the beginning of this political dispensation which has continued to raise dusts. Twice in 2015, the two prominent figures were together at some epoch-making events. In May, 2015, the source said that Mo Abudu attended an event at Civic Centre, Lagos, where Amaechi then about leaving office as Rivers State governor, launched a book called ‘Dynamics of Change’. The event also attracted the likes of accomplished writer and author, Prof. Wole Soyinka,
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and some others.
In July, 2015, both Mo Abudu and Rotimi Amaechi joined the likes of Adams Oshiomole, Rochas Okorocha and others for a TV Meet & Greet session
with President Muhammadu Buhari in U.S.

In September, 2015, when Mo’ Abudu celebrated in low key her 50th birthday with a handful of friends, Mr. Amaechi was the only ‘government man’ that attended the party. The party reportedly had a younger dude, Debola Williams and others on seat too. Three months later, Amaechi was also said to have joined other important personalities who graced the premiere of ‘Fifty’, a Box Office hit produced by Mo Abudu which reportedly netted the
hardworking lady close to a billion naira.
Earlier in January, 2017, Tonye Cole, the founder of Sahara Oil Limited, celebrated his 50th birthday.

Sources said that Both Amaechi and Mo Abudu were among special friends that graced the birthday celebration that also had Kate Henshaw, Demola Lagos and many other stars around.

Expectedly, Mo Abudu denied being Amaechi’s mistress while she debunked the reports that the former governor bought her the Ikoyi flat. “I’m not anyone’s mistress”, the beautiful lady had charged
at a reporter who asked to confirm the romance tale.

“I am not interested in talking to the media about this. I’m in a meeting right now and I am not interested in talking about anything at all. Okay? So, I am going to drop my telephone now. I know what it is you want to talk about and I am not interested. I’m
busy. There is nothing I’m going to talk about. Whatever it is you want to write, write it and if anybody writes anything that is not, I am going to sue that person. I have already put out a statement. Have you not been checking the internet? I am looking for the person that will let me make him a
scapegoat. Go to my Instagram and you will see it. You will see my statement there. Thank you,” she ended the chat on a warning note.

According to the source, “seen Mo Abudu and any other person regularly at events does not connote that the relationship is amorous, Mo Abudu is a virtuous lady and one who is only passionate about what she does, she is passionate about her job and
that is why she made the list of Business
Insider‘s ‘Top 100 Business Visionaries’ creating value for the world.”

CNN said of Mo Abudu; “Mo Abudu is undoubtedly one of Africa’s prominent women. In 11 years, she’s gone from hosting her own TV show to owning a film
studio, one of Nigeria’s premier TV networks.”
