Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, the founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos State, has warned that the idea of a government taking over the affairs of religious houses is not appropriate.
The popular cleric was reacting to the recently amended Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) made by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal of Nigeria.

In an exclusive interview granted during the public presentation of his annual prophecy book, ‘Warning To the Nations’,

the fiery preacher noted that he built the church with his labour for many years, thus a government coming to take over the running of the ministry would be resisted.

The man of God’s words;
“Nobody should toy with the idea of taking over my church. Are you the one who bought the land, built the church, a structure that I used my personal money to finance, my sweat? They can’t try it o, in my church.
“I’m pounding my hand on my chest and I’m saying it with confidence.
“May be you’re the one God called, you will tell me. When all my investments, all my life, my soul, my energy, and my blood are (invested) in the church. Forget CAMA, please.”
Ayodele, however, suggested that bigger churches could afford to accept the idea, not his.
“May be churches that are very rich, they can go and CAMA them, nobody can CAMA my church for me oo, nobody can…”, he fumes.
