Ikeja Electric CEO Meets Pole Producers, Calls for Production of Quality Poles

The Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric has reiterated the need on the production of a quality concrete pole, in other to guide against damages that may occur if poles, which is one of the major components in electricity distribution if faulty.
He stated this during a courtesy visit to his office in Ikeja by members of Reinforced Pole Producers Association, an umbrella body of all concrete pole producers in the country.
He said, Ikeja Electric will not compromise standard in this regard, most especially now that the country is experiencing heavy downpour and thunderstorms. Opined that Ikeja Electric is ready to cooperate with the association provided they will not compromise standard in pole production,
Earlier, the Chairman of the association, Engr. Dele Arigbede had said, the visit is to solicit for the support of Ikeja Electric in patronizing quality concrete pole producers and to stop contractors in synergy with an unscrupulous element in the usage of substandard poles produced by unapproved pole producers.
We will be appreciative if Ikeja Electric can extend an invitation to us to participate in their regular stakeholder’s forum where they can educate the general public especially Community Development Associations on the danger of using substandard poles to distribute electricity in their various areas.
The Chairman hinted that the association is set to sanitize pole production industry by the clampdown on quack pole producers through their task force recently set up by the association.
On the side of the Ikeja Electric at the meeting are Engr. Daramola Oladele, Engr. Olajide Kumopayi, Engr. Sunday Oyewole and Engr. Mohammed Abdullai, while Reinforced Pole Producers Association was represented by Engr. Dele Arigbede, Abel Orji who is the secretary of the association and Pastor Seun Oluwatunmibi.
