The 14th edition of the biggest, most flamboyant and most celebrated youth event in Nigeria, Young Achievers Nigeria Awards, will hold on the 28th of July, 2024, at Ibis Hotel, Ikeja Lagos State.
Courtesy of Young Achievers Nigeria.com, a popular youth-based newsmagazine, the annual event is aimed at celebrating and showcasing young Nigerian barrier breakers who have broken the ceilings of limitations to excel in their various fields.
Slated to speak at this year’s event are notable personalities and achievers. They include the first lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Dr. Lekan Ajisafe, MD\CEO Post Assurance Brokers, Dr. Lekan Ajisafe; Prophet Israel Oladele (Genesis), Akeem Abimbola, MD, Baltidon Group, Mr. Akeem Abimbola, and others.
In a press release made available to journalists in Lagos, the convener of the awards ceremony, Mr. Adeduntan Ibrahim Yinka, stated that, “despite the leadership and economic challenges our continent, and Nigeria in particular, is facing, some uncommon youths have kept written the name of our country on the global map based on the qualities they exhibit that people admire, which include: honesty, competence, integrity, intelligence and inspiration”.
Some of the nominees for the awards include Farouk Awodun, the best graduating student from UNILAG in 2023; 2nd Lt. Oluchukwu Owowoh, Nigerian military cadet who graduated with flying colours from Sandhurst UK; Dr. Aminat Ige, overall best graduating doctoral thesis award winner; the youngest house of assembly speaker in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly; Martina Obono Ofem, a graduate of Cross River University who started selling Boli (roasted plantain) by roadside and now an employer of labour.”
