A factional governor of the Lagos State chapter of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Mr. Julie Adegoroye a.k.a. Julie King, has confirmed to Global Excellence magazine the rescue of her daughter, Miss Semilore, who was reportedly abducted on Tuesday morning.

According to the famous music promoter, the young lady left her parents’ Ire Akari Estate residence in Isolo for her French school in Lekki when two strange men and a woman ambushed and drove her in a commercial tricycle popularly called ‘Keke Marwa’ to Egbeda area in Alimosho local government in Lagos.

”They (the culprits) probably were waiting for a prime victim at the gate of our Ire Akari Estate when they spotted her. They went for her believing she must be from a rich home and when she innocently boarded the Keke Marwa, she said they rubbed her a powdery substance on the face and she lost consciousness from then until she was rescued,” recounts King, adding that he got hint of her ordeal from a good Samaritan who suspected she was under a spell and contacted him.

‘King narrated further:

”A pastor who saw her crying inside the Heritage Bank, Egbeda, got in contact with me. The kidnappers had taken her to the bank to cash the money in her account when they couldn’t find an ATM on her or reach me on phone to demand for ransom. Unfortunately for them, I was also a signatory to her account, so, the bank teller asked her to her father to sign before the money could be realised to her. The teller did not even know that the lady among her abductors was with her in the bank.”

The PMAN scribe stated that it was when the teller asked her to call her father and she became confused and started crying that the pastor noted her strange behaviour and alerted the bank officials.

Following a call to him, Julie King said he quickly mobilized the security agents who went with him to the location. The culprits had, however, escaped before they got to the bank, he stressed. He said that the poor girl has been moved to a church for spiritual deliverance.
