The Nigerian army has recovered some personal belonging of Major General Idris Alkali after his vehicle was discovered in a pond in Jos, Plateau state. In a Facebook post by one Idris Ahmed Ahmed, it was reported that the clothes and shoes of the retired major general were recovered on Saturday, September 29.

Although his body has not been found yet, it is believed that Alkali was killed before his vehicle and other belongings were thrown into the pond.
