Hon Aisha Pategi

Hajia Aisha Pategi, who was until Friday the Commissioner for Special Duties in Kwara state, has resigned from cabinet.

That was the second time she will be doing that in 46 days,  Pategi  is however  no longer a member of the Kwara state Executive Council .

Aisha served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs before getting reassigned to the Ministry of Special Duties early last month.

A few days after getting redeployed to the Ministry of Special Duties, rumours  of her resignation went  viral she  however dismissed the resignation rumours on 14th July during her official visit to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

Aisha referred to those peddling rumours of her resignation as ‘a set of jobless propagandists’ whose only concern was to run down any committed and progressive-minded individual in public office.

Many people in the state including media practitioners were therefore sceptical when another letter surfaced online on Friday, August 28, 2020.

Aisha , whose father Ahman Pategi served as Minister for Health and Agriculture during the first republic thanked  the governor  for bringing her  into politics.

The former commissioner   said she decided to call it quit in order to  ‘focus on new ideals’.

Beautiful and stylish Aisha was arguably the most powerful cabinet member in the early days of the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration, and everybody accorded her special respect.

‘I, Aisha Ahman Pategi, the outgoing Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties, effective from today, Friday 28th August, 2020, humbly wish to formally announce my resignation from the cabinet of His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

I wish to thank God Almighty for giving me the grace and opportunity to serve as Commissioner for Local Government and now exiting as Commissioner for Special Duties, serving my fellow Kwarans and  representing Pategi Local Government in our drive to better the lot of Kwarans.

Life is in phases and I’m bold to say that having journeyed the political terrain with His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, now is the time for me to leave and focus on new ideals.

Going forward, my interest in Community Service and Grassroots’ Development will continue.

Once again, I would like to thank Almighty Allah, the People of Patigi, Kwarans, our dear party APC and most of all, His Excellency for bringing me into politics. May Allah reward him and continue to be his guide as he pilots the affairs of our dear State. God bless Pategi, Kwara and Nigeria.

With love and gratitude to All’ she  stated in her resignation letter on Friday.

This time around, the state government not only accepted her resignation but also wish her well in future endeavours.

‘The government has received a letter of resignation from Hon Aisha Ahman Pategi , who was the Commissioner for Special Duties.

The government accepts same and wishes her the best in her future endeavours’  the Commissioner for Communications, Adenike Afolabi Oshatimehin stated
