Federal lawmaker, Hon. Bamidele Salam who represents Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has continued to show interest in the wellbeing of  his constituents.

Salam last week wrote complaint letter   to the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA.

In the said  complaint letter, Hon Bamidele Salam,   asked FERMA to ensure that road contracts already awarded in Ede  are immediately  repaired and constructed.

The roads are;  Loogun/Federal Polytechnic Road Ede which  has according to him been  awarded to Thamar Engineering Limited, and the Cottage Junction to Oke-Gada Road Ede, awarded to Coastline Engineering Limited.  The said projects, he added, were captured in the 2018 Appropriation Act and awarded in 2019.

Worried about the continued delay in the execution of the projects, Salam through a letter dated February 13, 2020 and addressed to the Managing Director of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA demanded that the aforementioned roads be immediately fixed and constructed.

Salam also gave reasons for writing complaint letter to the agency.

‘The letter became necessary after several demands on my Office through protests, letters and calls from the concerned constituents whose social and economic lives have been adversely impacted due to the deplorable condition of these roads.

Also as member of the House Committee on FERMA, I have spoken with you on the phone and through text messages concerning these projects’ he stated.

The federal lawmaker emphasized the importance of these two roads to the smooth flow of economic activities in Ede and its environs. He therefore requested that urgent actions be taken in order to get the projects done and end the agonies faced by the motoring public.

It was learned  that  Hon. Bamidele Salam had also through a motion on the floor of the House called for urgent action on a number of roads within Ede town to stop the continued risk to lives in the ancient town.

The constituents therefore hoped that following this demand for urgent action, FERMA, will immediately swing into action and have the said roads repaired and constructed
