Hajiya Balarabe Inuwa Speaks On Rural Electrification In Kaduna

Pretty and intelligent Hajiya Balarabe Aliyu Inuwa is a grassroots politician in Kaduna State and one of the female politicians in the state that has the listening ears of the state Governor, Nasir Ahmed El-rufai.  She is a serving commissioner in the Ministry of Rural Electrification, Kaduna State. How far have you gone as commissioner for Rural Electrification in the state?

As part of the efforts for Rural Electrification Project, Kaduna State Government has procured 32 transformers to be installed at various rural communities in the state.
My Governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai takes cognizance of rural dwellers and has the desire to make them enjoy amenities that will make life meaningful. Nine rural feeder roads totaling 79km at an average completion rate of 75 percent procurement processes have also been completed.
What level are you now?

We are now strategically placed to attain maximum height. We are bent on touching the lives of rural dwellers in Kaduna State. We have also installed 138 hand-pump boreholes in many hard-to –reach areas of the 23 local governments in the state.

How far has your ministry gone in Pampaida scale up initiative?

The Ministry of Rural and Community Development is collaborating with Business Innovative Facility and Millennium to develop agricultural intervention. This Agricultural Intervention is to support small holder farmers’ communities of Banki in Kubau Local Government Area, Ang/Wahala in Kajuru Local Government Area and Ang/Maro’a in Jema’a  Local government areas. We also distributed 2700 value kit maize to farmers to yield estimated 12 -14 bags per ¼ hectare. Our community development workers have been provided with 30 android phones to report activities in their various communities and 30 brand-new motorcycles have been procured for them to aid their movements across the nooks and crannies of their respective local governments. Series of retreats have also been organized for staff to review core mandates of the Ministry of Rural and Community Development vis- a vis overall sector implementation of Kaduna State Government.
