Alhaja Aishat Gambari was a woman who enjoyed a very special status.  She was an exceptional blue-blood. Royalty dominated her environment and she indeed led a life of royalty from the cradle to the grave.   Hajia Ayishat Nma Sulu-Gambari,  however, breathed her last in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, penultimate Monday at the old age of 124.  Her father, Abdulkadir Dan Shuaib Bawa was the 8th Emir of Ilorin who reigned  from 17th of February 1920 to June 1959; her  late husband, the 9th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Zulukarnaini  Gambari occupied the stool from June 1959 to  1991.  Her son, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, is the current Emir of Ilorin  and he is the 11th Emir. He ascended the throne on the 11th of the eleventh month of the year (November) in 1995. He was a Judge of the Federal High Court before ascending the throne.

Sulaiman Onikijipa  was sighted in Ilorin on Friday. The popular Islamic cleric was one of those who canvassed support for former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki preparatory to the 2019 general elections.  Fondly addressed as‘Almisqeen’, Onikijipa was sighted at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari.  He was obviously there to condole with the monarch over the death of his mother.
