The group described Mustapha as one of the poster boys in Kwara politics and Nigeria as a whole. He is also according to the group a blessing to humanity.
‘It is no longer news that Hon. Mashood Atanda Mustapha has been installed as Olu-Omo of Yoruba Land of Accra Region of Ghana. The installation by Oba Hamzat Peregrino (VII) had in attendance Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, top traditional rulers including Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the Olofa of Offa,Oba Muftau Gbadamosi, Hon. Ganiyu Cook Olododo, who represents Ilorin East /Ilorin South in the House of Representatives, Governor Abdulrazaq’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alh. Yinka Aluko and the Oloriewe of Oro kingdom, Chief Raheem Adedoyin .
The city of Accra, indeed, stood still for the man of honour.

Moshood Mustapha’s lineage is rich in titles and honours. The Mustapha family is one of the elitist families in Ilorin that constantly enjoy the fraternity and trust of the Emir of Ilorin, the holder of both the spiritual and administrative leadership of Ilorin.
Mashood’s grandfather was an Alkali while his father is the current Wali of Ilorin, making him one of the stakeholders in the city.
Moshood’s father served as Commissioner for Finance during the second Republic . A disciplinarian whose love for his children knows no boundary, his victimization and illegal suspension from the APC Elders Council by the Sarakites did not make the old man have a decision-switch about his support for his son to contest ahead of the 2019 guber poll. Hon. Mashood Mustapha enjoys the love and unflinching support of his father, siblings and the entire members of the family.
Hon. Mashood Mustapha is one of the shakers of Kwara state political space. He brought glamour and passion to the game of politics in Kwara state when he threw his hat into the ring . He was the first politician to break the then APC into two by organizing parallel congresses at his Alanamu Ward , Ilorin West Local Government before factionalizing same party at the state level, thereby paving way for the progressive PDP to join.
His declaration for the Governorship seat at Arca Santa event centre has been described as the largest gathering and first of its kind when it involves political activities in the state.
