Gov. Ahmed’s Media Aide Bags Award

The Kwara State government has promised to continue to provide support and encouragement for media establishments in the state.  Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications, Dr. Muideen Akorede stated this while receiving the executive members of the Kwara State Chapter of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) in his office.  The Union officials led by the Vice-Chairman, Comr. Mohammed Saidu Gagara visited to present the gold medal and the award certificates won by the Kwara State team at the just concluded 2017 North Central Zone RATTAWU Festival (RATTAFEST) in Jos, Plateau State. Kwara State emerged first in TV Documentations and third in Radio presentations’ categories at the festival, which was staged between August 7th and 12th. Akorede congratulated the team and gave assurances that the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration will continue to support media organizations in the state, including those owned by private individuals. In his remarks, Comr. Mohammed Saidu thanked the state government for the support given to media houses in the state while he also presented the ‘Icon of Media’ award to Dr. Akorede, which was conferred on him by the RATTAWU, North Central zone.
