Those planning to cause trouble in Kwara State have been asked to stay away from the state. Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed warned on Thursday that potential trouble makers should stay away from the state before, during and after the forthcoming elections in the state or risk facing the full wrath of the law .
Governor Ahmed, who spoke after a meeting of the Kwara State security committee on Wednesday evening, noted that the security agencies will act against illegal voting and that he has received the assurances from the heads of security and paramilitary agencies in the state that they are fully ready to curb any threat.
The governor who emphasized that elections in Kwara State are traditionally peaceful, said the state government stands ready to provide the logistic support required by the security agencies to maintain law and order as well as protect lives and property during the elections. Ahmed who is the chairman of the state Security Committee said that security agencies in partnership with the state government will guarantee safety and security at all times. The Security Committee Meeting was attended by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, Acting Brigade Commander, Sobi, Col. A Egbejule, heads of the Navy, Airforce, Civil Defence, NDLEA, FRSC, Immigration, Customs and Prisons in the state, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, Chief of Staff ,Government House, Alhaji Yusuf Baba Wahab, Special Adviser, Security, Alhaji Amusa Bello and other government functionaries.
