GASTAB Oil Boss, Omogbolahan Adigun, Hails Comrade Olawale’s Appointment As NUPENG Gen-Sec

The Deputy Chairman 1, of Lagos Zone of Petroleum Tanker Drivers Branch of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade (Alhaji) Omogbolahan Adigun has  commended the leadership of the Union for appointing Comrade Olawale Afolabi as General Secretary.

he said NUPENG being a purpose-driven Union has dispassionately put into cognizance some salient virtues like hardwork, loyalty, competence, and dedication in its mode of appointing people into sensitive offices.

“With utmost respect, I found it appropriate to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Olawale Afolabi on his deserving appointment as the General Secretary of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) by the National Administrative Council of our great Union.

Comrade Afolabi is widely known as a resilient and quintessential unionist, who has been on the labour movement turf for over 20 years.Truly, with his versatility of experience and leadership excellence in NUPENG, particularly in the diligent handling of Education and Training of the rank and file of the Union will make him provide unique exemplary leadership to trade unionism in general, and also in improving on the achievements of his predecessors, while also engendering the goals and policy thrust of the Union. I am convinced that his vision of making NUPENG the centre of distinction in the world would be achieved.”

Comrade Omogbolahan stated further, “Correspondingly, the appointment of Deputy General Secretaries in charge of Administration, Operations and Finance/Account, Comrades Christopher Akpede, Otite Onohwohwo and Anthony Chukwu is also applaudable. This dispassionate intervention will clearly serves as an inspiration to others, having seen people who are offering their best not only being recognized but rewarded for their dedication and productivity.” He said.

He continued, “While I commend NUPENG for these remarkable steps, it is my desire to as well salute the leadership of Petroleum Tanker Drivers branch of NUPENG (PTD) especially our National Chairman, Comrade (Otunba) Salimon Akanni Oladiti, the Chairman Lagos Zone of PTD, Comrade Olabisi Akinlolu and all our esteemed leaders who are all living witnesses to the numerous transformation that our purpose-driven Union is currently experiencing in its mode of operation and administration.
