The Rivers State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, whose pictures went viral on the social media on Monday publicly disgracing his female officers for ‘disobeying dress code of FRSC’ may have landed himself in trouble with the Commission.
We gathered that the pictures attracted the attention of the Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi who reportedly condemned the act and ordered a full scale investigation.
The pictures, which started trending late Monday evening, show Kumapayi, using a pair of scissors to cut up the hair of some female officials.
The incident reportedly happened during the morning parade when Kumapayi went round to inspect his officers and men.
Confirming the veracity of the photographs, the FRSC spokesman, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, said the agency was already aware of the incident and that the corps marshal had already ordered an investigation into the issue.
Kazeem explained that though the FRSC had dress code for its officials, which, among others, forbids female officials from wearing long hair, Kumapayi should not have cut up the affected women’s hair as he did.
Kazeem said since it was still a developing story, he would not comment further until the investigation ordered by the corps marshal is completed.
