Conmen recently made an attempt to use a charity project planned by the Pro Chancellor and Chairperson of the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians, a reliable source informed Global Excellence magazine.

Saraki, who is one of the new ministerial nominees, had reportedly made a post on her social media page about the project calling for CVs and resumes from strictly female graduates with degrees in French, Maths, Music, Physical and Health Education, Physics and more.

The project which was still at the primary stage, the source said, was, however, hijacked by a gang of internet cheats who had impersonated the former Kwara Central senator attempting to use information technologies to get people to send money or give out their personal information.

Fortunately, Senator Saraki was tipped of the plan by the gang led by one Ismaila Olawale and she promptly terminated the process and deleted the post, with a disclaimer added on her Facebook page

Saraki had written in her disclaimer that, “ No one should send any money nor make or receive any call to and from that number (added to the counterfeit post by the gang) or any other telephone number for that matter. This has absolutely nothing to do with money, payment, favour, etc.

This is what is so tiresome about trying to help, when unscrupulous people take undue advantage of both the innocent and desperate people looking for a job as well as those trying to give a helping hand. I’m no longer receiving messages or applications in regards to my previous post. it has now closed.”
