Alhaji Kazeem Ademola Adio is a prince from Iwo and he is a young man that is full of ideas , the gist here is that he has joined the league of the governorship candidates. The highly industrious dude emerged as the flag bearer of the African Democratic Party (ADC) penultimate week. The governorship primary which was held at the party Secretariat, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo recorded the presence of delegates across the state and representatives of the party at the national level.
Chief Ananyo Arinze who is the National Publicity Secretary of the party, the state chairman and delegates from the 30 local Government areas of the state affirmed Adio’s candidature at exactly 2:32pm through a voice vote . The delegates readily chorused ‘Yes’ in support of Adio’s candidacy for the governorship election. Chief Arinze while declaring Alhaji Kazeem Adio elected commended the ADC members for demonstrating the needed maturity that is according to him , absent in the other political parties. ‘I want to sincerely appreciate our members in Osun state for the doggedness and the way they comported themselves towards making the historic event peaceful and successful, I am confident that with them, Osun state shall be delivered from the government that they have no stake in, I also thank the representatives of the INEC who came out in good numbers’ he said. The state ADC Chairman , Mr Ajao Adelakin pledged to give maximum support to Adio and urged all party faithful to reach out to the people at various levels by making them realize that the ADC has come with the desired positive change . In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Kazeem Adio promised to make good use of the mandate to the advantage of the party and the people of Osun state .
‘We are gathered here today because we have seen the need to change the status quo in our land, we enjoy divine support and the Almighty God is there for us, by His Grace ,we shall get to the promised land, a land where poverty is banished, a land characterized by progress and development, a land where salaries are paid as at when due and where pensioners can go back to their various homes and be happy having something to fall back on, a land where we can grow what we eat and be proud of it, a land where we can embark on profitable ventures and be assured that we have reaped that which we have sowed. Osun state belongs to us and this is the opportunity to assert the needed ownership . ADC is the only reliable political vehicle that can take us to the needed destination. Iam therefore calling on the good people of Osun state and those that are in solidarity with us, to join hands with us to take back our land and restore our values as true omoluabis’ he stated . The guber hopeful also challenged the youths and emphasized the need for them to be more proactive and dedicated to the cause of securing the rights to leadership positions.
