A section of the female hostel of Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsinma in Katsina was on Friday razed by fire.
The fire which was caused by an explosion from a camp cooking gas cylinder has left no fewer than 25 students roomless.
Most of the items lost to the inferno are clothes, food items, beddings, books and other valuables.
The Provost of the college Dr Maigari Abdu has visited the scene of the incidence to ascertain the level of damage.
Speaking on the incidence, the college’s spokesman Muntari Bala said all those affected were temporarily accommodated last night but have now been asked to return home for a week after work would have been completed by them.
He said, all the affected students are to benefit from a token palliative of between N5, 000 to N25,000 depending on the gravity of their respective losses.
