Effective May 14, 2018, the cashless policy transaction across airports in the country owned by the Federal Government will commence.

This is in line with promoting Efficiency and Transparency in the Business Environment (Executive Order O1), it was learnt.

The General Manager, Corporate Communications, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, confirmed the development.

She said all government revenue payments at all airports across Nigeria would now be made electronically effective May 14, 2018.

According to her, the policy applies to government revenue and exempts access gates, food courts, shops and other non-governmental (private) businesses operating at the airports.

To ensure the seamless implementation of the policy, Mrs. Yakubu disclosed that the authority had deployed Point of Sales (POS) machines to payment points across the airport and official arrangements for direct transfers.

“We look forward to enabling seamless travel airport processes for all passengers at Nigerian airports.

Thank you for your support as we promote efficiency and transparency in Nigeria,” she said.
