Ex-Katsina lawmaker, Hon Danlami Mohammed Kurfi has felicitated with Governor of Katisna State, His Excellency Alhaji Bello Masari on his victory at the Supreme Court, describing the judgment as another landmark in the country’s political annals.

Kufi who was the Representative of Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency made a disclosure that he received the news with incredible joy, pointing out that the Supreme Court’s judgment had not only consolidated the nation’s democracy, but also further strengthened the citizens’ belief in the judicial and electoral process.

In a chat with some political correspondents in Katsina on Friday, Kurfi said the APC’s victory at the apex court affirmed the will of majority of the people of Katsina and Nigerians at large, stressing that the judgment averted the danger of returning the country to the period of plague, which, the former parliamentarian said, defined the PDP’s 16 years of misrule in Nigeria.

Wednesday’s judgment, Kurfi said, shattered all hurdles set against Governor Masari and has fully set him and his team on the journey to take the state to the Next Level in infrastructural renewal, economic development and security of lives and properties among other excellent virtues.

He said: “With great respite and excitement in my heart, I have received the good news of the victory of His Excellency Governor Bello Masari and my great party, All Progressives Congress, at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. This is yet another landmark judgment that will enrich our democratic and political processes in our great state and by extension, Nigeria at large.

“The judgment is a great relief for all of us in Katsina state after a period of fierce contest and bickering that marred the last general elections. The Supreme Court has not only upheld the choice of greater number of Nigerians who chose APC and the Alhaji Bello Masari at the polls, it has also affirmed our belief in the judiciary as impartial arbiter whose pronouncements have strengthened our democracy in great leap.

“I rejoice most sincerely with Governor Masari, APC state leaders and all Nigerians on this deserving and worthwhile victory. The judgment is instructive because it has demystified all encumbrances set against our collective march to the Next Level of good governance heralded by renewed energy to restore the glory of Katsina in infrastructure, human capital development, economy and social well-being.

“Katsina State cannot afford to go back to the period of plague that characterised the PDP’s 16 years of misrule that pushed our state to the odious edge. Therefore, I see the judgment as a victory for good governance instituted by the APC-led Federal Government and for all patriotic Nigerians who share our philosophy for the rebirth of a new nation where everything will work.” Kurfi affirmed.
