Her journey into gospel music started as chorister in her youth days, with serious zeal in serving God through singing.
Today, Evangelist Dr. Mercy Alayo Ige who received the divine call and mandate to establish her ministry in the year 2002, is now a force to reckon with in the gospel music circle.
“My first album was launched and my ministry Mercy Alayo gospel voices international was inaugurated on the 18th of October in the year 2003. I also received a mandate from Holy Spirit through His prophet to establish Annual thanksgiving and praise musical concert in the year 2007 which I later tagged MEGA MERCY MOMENT and has been scheduled for every second Sunday of December, glory be to God He has been faithful to us since that time”
A well traveled gospel artiste, who has performed in many great concert both within and outside has thrown her heart into the ring to be the next governor of GOMAN in Ondo state. “Have performed on the same stage with great gospel singers which are too numerous to mention globally”
One of the top members of GOMAN in Ondo State, Evangelist Mercy Alayo, sees her membership of the association as better medium for her to contribute to it progress in Ondo state.
As an aspiring candidate to the post of the association governor in the state, she said, transparency, accountability and unity in the association will be our watchword when eventually elected in the forthcoming election in the state
“Spreading the gospel via music, taking GOMAN Ondo state to the next level, altruistic welfarism of the association members, establishment and building of GOMAN Ondo state chapter office and secretariat are parts of so many agenda I have for the association”.
A dodge fight and woman of substance believed that, “activation of GOMAN musical institution, encouragement of upcoming Gospel ministers, GOMAN standard studio and marketing shop will be my priorities”
Evang. (Dr) Mercy Alayo Ige was born into the family of Elder S.Ajulo and Late Deaconess Grace Ajulo in Ekiti state in the late 60’s, went to L.A primary school Ise-Ekiti, then furthered to Akinluse comprehensive high school Ise-Ekiti. “I went for my National Diploma at Federal College of Education Akure, before proceeded to University of Ado-Ekiti now called Ekiti State University for my Bachelor degree in Public Administration, presently at National Open University of Nigeria for my Master’s degree. I’m married to Elder Taiwo Ige and blessed with promising children”.
