A former House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, Mr Abidemi Rufai on Tuesday has once again extended his usual gesture to party loyalists in Ijebu Ode local government area of Ogun state.

According to him, the palliatives which included bags of rice and cash donations were designed to cushion the effects of Covid-19 on the people especially during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

Some of the beneficiaries of the package include party leaders, all ward APC chairmen, his campaign coordinators as well as members of the Ogun State community social orientation and safety corps, otherwise known as So-Safe Corps, Ijebu-Ode.

The Lagos based real estate merchant, however, pleaded with Muslim faithful to live in harmony as the festive period beckons.

He also appealed to the people to continue to maintain social distancing and adhere to government directives on the best way out of the pandemic disease now ravaging the world.

Meanwhile, speaking at the local government secretariat, Itoro, venue of the distribution exercise, the local government party chairman, Mr Suraju Logere, expressed appreciation to Rufai for deeming it fit to reach out to his constituents despite the harsh economic condition of the country.

In his words; “Let me sincerely thank Hon Abidemi Rufai for his kind gesture. Some politicians like him only come around when they need the votes of the people. But in his own case, he has been consistently identifying with the people.”

Prince Adekunle Aronmolate, the chairman of ward chairmen in the council while receiving the palliatives on behalf of others, also showered encomiums on Hon Rufai and tasked other politicians to emulate his philanthropic lifestyle.
