Crisis is currently brewing between the Ibese youths and their counterpart in Ilaro; Ilaro Youths Development Forum (IYPF) with the Ibese youths sternly warning IYPG to desist forthwith from interfacing with the management of Dangote Cement Company on their behalf.

Ibese youths who accused IYPF of serially interfacing with Dangote Cement Company to nurture their selfish agenda under the guise of working for the interest of Ibese people, warned them to end the deceitful game immediately.

The Vice President of the Ibese Youth Association, Mr Aina Bamigboye who sounded the warning in a statement he personally signed on Thursday, November 5, 2020 vehemently condemned the action insisting that Ilaro is not part of the Cement Company’s host communities.

Ilaro and Ibese are two giants’ towns in Yewa, Ogun West Senatorial District.

Ibese, the major host community of the giant cement plant is at loggerhead with Ilaro, owing to claim that it has to right to make demand from the command on its behalf.

Bamigboye in the statement, described the action as illegal and infringement on other people’s right.

The President Ilaro youths has every right to demand anything from any organisation but not Dangote Cement Company as Ilaro is none of its host communities.

The statement reads: “We at the Ibese community cannot muffle the youth of Ilaro as they have decided to speak out. Of course, they have the right to request or demand for whatever lawful things from any organisation that owes them obligation but not when such demands or requests infringe on someone else’s rights.”

He continued, “They cannot negotiate on our behalf. If they have grouse with Dangote, they should go ahead and pursue it. They are free to do that for their community, not us in Ibese. Speaking for and on behalf of the host community is an anomaly and wantonly domineering.”

Bamigboye, however, hinted that arrangements are nearly conclusion to consummate negotiations with the company regarding the demands of the community youths which were put before the organization on the 22nd October, 2020.

Meanwhile, the group has lent its weight to the recent call on Govetnor Dapo Abiodun by the Ogun lawmaker representing Yewa North state constituency, Hon Adegoke Awoso on the alleged marginalisation of Ogun West over matters bordering on dividends of democracy.

Bamigboye lauded the lawmaker for the courage, responsiveness and boldness of the lawmaker displayed in speaking on behalf of Ogun West regarding the 30 roads earmarked by the state government for rehabilitation.

“While we strongly believe in Hon Awoso’s to deliver on his electoral promises, we however caution the lawmaker not to mortgage the general interest of Yewa North local government and Ogun West in the exchange of any pecuniary motive or any other ignoble ambition.”
