As part of his commitment towards ensuring the success of the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State, a leading chairmanship aspirant under the APC in the forthcoming LG elections, Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo has presented 20,000 free facemasks to his Abeokuta North constituency reinforcing his Mask4All Nigerians Campaign.
Oyegbola-Sodipo, popularly known as LOS, presented the face masks tagged, ‘Ibomu Lanre’ at an elaborate event attended by representatives of the 16 wards of Abeokuta North Local Government, party leaders and members, community leaders, artisan groups, amidst mammoth supporters.
While handing over the face masks to the representatives of the 16 wards, the chairmanship aspirant said, “the focus of this initiative is multi-dimensional; the first is to bring succour to the vulnerable who cannot afford the face masks. The second is to empower our women and youths; as the tailors employed to sew the face masks were pre-trained, thereby creating an alternative source of income and the third, is to help prevent the spread of the Corona virus.”
“This initiative which has delivered free face masks across five other states has now been brought to my local government area. Our plan is to deploy more home grown, innovative solutions which will create wealth, engender development and address the challenges facing the people by prioritizing feasible economic expansion, agriculture, industrialization, job creation and welfare across all parts of the local government, if elected,” he added.
The event, which took place at the residence of Alhaji Bodunrin, a chieftain of APC from Abeokuta North, had in attendance the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Okedara (Abra), Hon. Samsudeen Shobande and Hon. Adio Abiola.
Other attendees include Alh. Musiliu Garuba, Hon. Mukaila Balogun, Hon. Remi Robert, Prince Adedapo Taofeek, Prince Adeniyi Edun, Hon. Adetokunbo Rasaq and Hon. Rabiu Adebayo.
