Court Remands Three Men For Threatening Osun Monarch’s Life

Most of the scenes recorded these days are quite surpassing and unbelievable!  A good number of actions considered sacrilegious in the past are now happily done without signs of remorse or inhibitions, they are indeed done with impunity. An Osogbo Chief  Magistrate Court,  Osun State has ordered three dudes to be remanded at the Ilesa prison until the next hearing date, the  18th of June.  

They are facing trial for allegedly issuing death threat to an Osun monarch, Oba Abeed Adetoyose Agbaje, the Olu of Ile-Ogbo town and one  Shittu Kehinde.  The three accused persons; 51-year old  Wasiu Adeyinka, Aderibigbe Adekunle  and Lasisi Kehinde who are 45 and 25  years old respectively were arraigned before Magistrate M. A Awodele on seven-count charge bothering on conspiracy, robbery and possession of firearms.  

The prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye told the court that the defendants committed the offence between 17th of November, 2017 and the 26th of April, 2018 at Bovas filling station area,  Ile-Ogbo, Osun State. Oladoye further alleged that the accused persons stole a bag containing one Nokia phone valued at N12,000 and the sum of N153,300 belonging to Prince Popoola Olawore. He explained further that the accused persons armed with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons threatened to kill Oba Abeeb Adetoyose Agbaje (Olu of Ile-Ogbo town) and Chief Shittu Kehinde. The defendants were said to have conspired among themselves to commit the offence which contravened section 6(b) and punishable under section 1(i) of the robbery and firearms (special provisions) act cap R11 volume 14 laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

The three defendants were represented by Barrister B. Y.  Dada.  Magistrate M. A. Awodele in her ruling ordered that they be remanded in Ilesa prison and adjourned the case to the 18th of  June, 2018.
