CHILDREN’S DAY STAGE CONCERT: Faithia Balogun, Other Star Acts Storm Ilorin

Sultry actress, Faithia Williams Balogun, is among top theatre practitioners that will be performing in a stage play tomorrow, Friday, 27th May, 2016, in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. The event is in celebration of this year’s Children’s Day.

 

The stage drama, titled, ‘Asa Wa’ (our tradition), is a theatrical presentation of the realities and effects of modernization on our culture.

‘Asa Wa’ is a stage play conceptualised by renowned actor, Femi Adebayo, the Special Assistant to Kwara State governor, on Arts, Culture & Tourism.

Preparations for the stage play which is also meant to mark the May 29th, 2016, Democracy Day, sources said, are in top gear as various movie stars have stormed Ilorin, rehearsing for the show meant to set the quiet city sparkling.

According to sources, the ageless beauty, Faithia, is taking one of the lead roles as a local folklore singer, Labake, who eventually becomes the beautiful bride.

The play holds at the Banquet Hall, opposite the Kwara State government House, in the presence of dignitaries from far and near, including the host, H.E. Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, the executive governor of Kwara State.
