Prolific female talking drummer, Eniola Lias Abiodun has become a force to reckon with after she returned from her America tour. Sharing her first American experience, Lias told us that she was first invited by Luku Jazz Entertainment, a promoter in America, New Jersey. “He invited me to America for performance. On getting there, I met a lot of promoters and one of them, OLANTECH Global Promotion took interest in my performance and took me all over the states in America for performance. I played at Dallas, Texas, Postin, Maryland, Georgia, Delaway and New York. Most importantly, I played for Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) in New York for his birthday celebration last year. The experience was very wholesome”. Speaking further, she said that she went back to America again February this year for another experience. “I was taken all over the states again by Olantech Global Promotions.
I was first invited to America for performance by Alhaji Luku Jazz but my second tour was sponsored by OLANTECH Global Promotions. This time, my experience was wonderful.
Before her first America, this lovely and beautiful entertainer who was inspired by her grandmother released her first album few years back. In her own way of giving back to the society, Eniola hinted that she is planning to start a talk-show on T.V. to promote drummers, both males and females on the show, she plans to be inviting both veteran and upcoming drummers to the shows for interviews for them to share their experience, and also serve as a way to make their faces known. Before her first American tour last year, she was in Germany for performance. Ayangbajumo as she is popularly called confirmed to us that female talking-drummers are well appreciated in the western-world than Africa. Apart from drumming, Ayangbajumo also sings. “I have always been singing from my childhood but she added that she prefers drumming to singing and said both can be combined because they go together to give you the best to entertain your fans and admirers. “I sing, dance and beat drum,” she concluded.
