At last, the much-talked-about exciting television reality show, Celebrity Come Build a.k.a. CCBNaija, has taken off. The show, which is going to run for the next eight weeks, is taking a deep dive into entertainment and also into areas of human experience that are uncommon. All these are going to happen on camera. According to the organizers of CCBNaija, viewers are going to come away more educated as well as informed.

On CCBNaija, some favourite celebrities from the African continent have come together to undergo the greatest transformation that has been caught on camera in recent times. After the trials and triumphs at the show, the organizers say the contestants are going to stand proud and be entitled to speak confidently in the presence of peers and their contemporaries. The show is the best thing viewers are going to see on television in 2021, declared Andre Blaze, Nigerian top radio personality and anchor of CCBNaija.

The CCBNaija Season One is titled ‘The New Normal’, and is currently running on DSTV 408 at 5.30pm; GOTV 108 at 8.30pm, and STARTIMES DTT 100 or DTH200 at 7.00pm (across Africa). In Europe, viewers can see it on AVO.TV Channel 88 at 7pm Nigerian time; BEN TV London on SKY Channel 195 at 8.30pm Nigerian time, and on all social medias at 8pm local time, including at www.ccbnaija.com, @ccbnaija on youtube https://youtu.be/vSGDuAWA9A0, @ccbnaija on instagram, @ccbnaija on facebook, @ccbnaija on twitter. “It is going to be filled with emotions, intrigues and more, promises Andre.

Already, the judges have been unveiled. They include high-powered qualified individuals who have attained professional standards. The three-man panel of judges, who we gathered represent about 70 years of expertise, skilled and experience in their professions, with representations across such fields of endeavor as architecture, plumbing, project management, engineering and interior décor, includes the Dean of Academy at ULDA and PhD holder, Engineer Babatunde Faleye; Lady Joy Shittu and Builder Oresanya. They are going to oversee the contestants’ everyday tasks and ensure that fairness and professionalism take precedence through the next eight weeks of the entertaining show.

The celebrity contestants, handpicked from across the African continent, are going to work in a team to build and furnish two three-bedroom bungalows from scratch to completion. For the next eight weeks, they are expected to put into good use what they’ve learnt in class. “They are expected to organize the site better, coordinate the artisans and, of course, get their hands dirty,” stated the anchor.

While the winner, at the end of eight weeks, walks away with a grand prize of 120 million naira, one of the 5-bedroom duplex apartments to be built literally on the show, the highest voting viewer also gets a three-bedroom bungalow. And every day of each week, viewers will be winning corporate giveaways like, return tickets to Dubai, building materials and cash prizes, just for answering basic construction or celebrities-related questions and voting for celebrities of their choice.

According to the organizers, the fact that ladies are made a part of the construction based entertainment show even makes it more fun. “That ladies are in the house means we’re going to have more ladies coming into construction because we have discovered that ladies on the show are willing, they want to perform and they are putting in their best,” noted Lady Joy Shittu.

The organizers also declared that everything that the contestants were taught in class is going to be applied while the show lasts to the advantage of the audience.

The celebrity contestants who also took turns to share their experiences all agreed that while being part of the show is a sweet experience, the practicality of learning to build from the scratch essentially was a lifetime experience.

An initiative of Universal Direct Academia Ltd (ULDA), the parent company of ULDA Media Ltd, in partnership with the Asuelime Eniola-led Ojis Media Limited, CCBNaija reality television show was conceived to encourage the youths’ interest in acquiring building and construction skills, while it also aims to create a private sector-driven and social-enterprise housing initiative.
