An Ibadan, Oyo State based female lawyer, Yewande Oyediran who  allegedly stabbed her husband, Lowo Oyediran, to death last week Tuesday morning in their Akobo residence, is still under investigation at Iyaganku police station, Ibadan.

Lowo, a native of Gbongan in Ayedaade Local Government of Osun State and a holder of French citizenship, was brutally stabbed to death early Tuesday morning at their Akobo Estate residence in Ibadan by his wife, Yewande, (nee Fatoki), lawyer and a staff of Directorate of Public Prosecution at the Ministry of Justice, Ibadan. According to sources, Lowo was first stabbed in the armpit and back by the wife around 12 midnight and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. He came back from the hospital after he was treated and the landlord settled the quarrel between them till about 3.00 a.m. and they went to sleep.

But by 6.00 a.m., she went to stab him in the neck while he was still asleep.”

A niece of the deceased Lowo was quoted by an online medium to have said that Yewande alleged betrayal against her husband when she allegedly accused him of having a child outside their marriage yet she (Yewande) had no child since they got married.

“She’s a lawyer, yet she took the law into her hands. Her licence must be revoked. She must pay for her crimes. She would have divorced him instead of killing him if she was tired of the marriage”, the niece reportedly lamented.

The Oyedirans’ marriage would have been three years old this week Tuesday, February 9, 2016.
