Hon Bamidele Salam who represents Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency in the House of Representatives   has been named as member of the governorship campaign council for the Ondo state governorship election by the PDP.

The election will hold on  October 10

The 144-member Campaign Council  is headed by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state.

The Campaign Council was inaugurated on Friday, 28th August.

Salam who thanked  the National Chairman and members of the party’s National Working Committee for appointing him to  the Campaign Council, said the task ahead of the campaign council is to restore the dignity, honour and prosperity of the good people of Ondo state by ensuring emergence of a PDP Governor in the person of Eyitayo Jegede.

The federal lawmaker said the  PDP governorship candidate and his running mate; Gboluga Ikengboju have track records of ‘selfless service’ that are not only enviable but highly desirable at ‘this crunch time’ in the state.

‘With this assignment, I wish on all occasions of our engagement with the historically great and industrious people of Ondo state to  pay tribute to the support our great party previously enjoyed from them which laid unprecedented foundations for accelerated development of this special state in the South Western part of our dear country.

Ondo state without doubt, however requires a radical departure from destruction and economic chaos currently pervading the once roundly buoyant state.

I have carefully observed that, the most important issue before the Ondo State people right now; either in the inter land or the  riverine  communities is to overcome the crisis of oligarchic administration, which has engendered crass impunity in governance of the state.

It is evident beyond politics that our party must strive to secure a restoration of normal jobs to the mounting unemployed, recovery of agricultural height of the state as well as other businesses, and most urgently, that Barrister Eyitayo Jegede may extend generous help in the meantime, to tide the people over until these fundamental restorations are established.

The battle in my opinion, should change from a parochial defense of narrow interests, disaster and chaos, to forward marching attack on a hundred fronts, through a score of instrumentalities and pragmatic weapons towards economic recovery, as against moral bankruptcy oozing out of corridors of responsibilities in the state,’ he said
