‘Bad Times Await Criminals In Kwara’

Dare devil young men who were apparently misled into joining the bad gangs have continued to face hard times in the hands of security agents in Kwara state .  The Kwara State Police Command got four chaps arrested in connection with cult related activities in Ilorin .  Six persons were also apprehended for drug related offences.

 

The Senior Special Assistant on Security Intelligence to Governor Abdul Fatah Ahmed, Dr. B.S Abdulsalam, stated that the suspects were arrested at the Agbo-Oba area of the state capital following a discreet investigation by the security operatives. The suspects are currently in the custody of the police and the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), where they have been singing like a canary bird.

 

Abdulsalam also disclosed that some officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) were on Thursday night drafted for surveillance duties and to monitor things at a certain hotel in Ilorin to prevent the planned initiation exercise of new cult members slated to hold there at night.

 

The governor’s Special Assistant who affirmed the commitment of the Abdul Fatah Ahmed’s administration to the protection of lives and property and the maintenance of law and order in the state advised residents of the state to be law abiding. Another set of cultists numbering six were also arrested  in Babaoko and they have been promptly handed over to the Anti-Culitism Unit of the Kwara state police command  for further interrogation.

 

Abdul Salam who urged the people of the state to ignore the recent rumour promoted on the internet relating to staging of more cult-related scenes said the law enforcement agents are on red alert and are capable and equipped to ensure protection of lives and property.
